Our Ministries
Our church is committed to helping all its members recognize, develop and celebrate the gifts God gives them for doing a variety of ministries. Here is an overview of some of the ministries we offer. We hope this may help you find a place to serve God.
Feeding Hungry Children
The purpose of this ministry is to provide weekend food bags to local school children who experience food insecurity. Many children are at risk of not having adequate food in their homes on weekends when they do not have breakfast and lunches provided at school.

Higher Education and Campus Ministries
The purpose of this ministry is to maintain regular contact with college studens from our congregation ensuring they know they are still loved and connected to their home church. It provides a stable connection to our church at a time when it is easy to put church connections aside.

Thread Loving Crafters (TLC)
The mission of the Princeton FUMC TLC is to create quilted, sewn, crocheted, or knitted items for the needy or those that need special ministering. TLC has knitted thousands of baby hats for newborns and prayer shawls have been given to people who need comfort. If you sew, quilt, knit or crochet (or have none of these skills but just want to help), please join us.
Missions
We can have an impact on our world through working through our local and world mission projects. We provide support by our service, giving and connections to the many ministries we support through our local church.

Visitation
The purpose of this ministry is to share the love of God and the love of our church by visiting, or keeping in touch in other ways, with our church family and friends who reside in assisted living facilities, are confined to their own home, have suffered recent or ongoing illnesses, hospitalizations or other crises. If you would like to be a part of this ministry, contact Victoria Horton or the church office for more information.
Church Library
The library provides books and materials to promote a better understanding of our Christian heritage. We have both a main library and a childrens library. There are many ways you can assist those wishing to check out books or do research.
Bereavement
The Bereavement Committee is a group who have volunteered to serve those who are experiencing the loss of a loved one by preparing a meal for the bereaved and out of town guests who are attending the funeral. It is a time when the family can come together with a meal, conversation and shared memories. If you feel called to assist in this ministry by providing food, serving or cleaning up after the meal, contact Mary Ann Thomas or the church office for more information.
Altar Guild
The Altar Guild are parishioners who serve God by caring for the sanctuary and everything in it. They are often unseen and unnoticed, but their ministry is essential for the smooth flow of worship and for creating an atmosphere of reverence. They work behind the scenes to clean and polish the chalices, set up the altar for each service, as well as observe the changing liturgical seasons. If you would like more information on this ministry, contact Ann Graham or the church office.
Worship Leader / Liturgist
The Worship Leader, or Liturgist, assists the pastor with the order of worship by calling the people to worship, introducing hymns, reading scripture and leading unison prayers. Typically, worship leaders serve for one month. If you would like to serve in this ministry or want more information, contact Twyla Hersman or the church office.
Pew Keepers
Pew Keepers ensure that the church pews are organized and supplied with offering envelopes, prayer request cards and items for new visitors. Organizing the pews is completed each week with a one month commitment from the volunteer each year. This is an important ministry that is accomplished behind the scenes. If this is something you might like to be a part of, contact Victoria Horton or the church office.
