Sunday School

A nursery is provided during the Sunday School hour for newborns through three years of age. This is structured as a Sunday School class to provide a foundation for when it is time to move up to the next age level. This class meets in the nursery room which is found on the first floor of the education wing.

The Children's Sunday School class meets on the second floor of the education wing  and includes those 3 years of age through 3rd grade. Deep Blue is a comprehensive Bible study for children, incorporating the pillar stories from the Old and New Testaments.  It consists of Bibles stories, service learning, science activities, arts and crafts, animated video storytelling, and active games into a lived-faith experience that helps children discover what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ today. Wonderful retired teacher, Sandy Gay, is the primary teacher for this age group.

The Older Elementary Sunday School class, led by Sherrie Price, has chosen to focus on service with her class of fourth and fifth graders during this school year.  They have identified ways they can serve in our church and have put some of those ideas into practice by making crafts for home-bound members, and working as greeters on Sunday morning. Visiting home-bound members is another goal of this enthusiastic group.

The Youth Sunday School class (combined Middle School and High School students) is using "The Thread" curriculum, which looks at the thread of the gospel running through the "big picture" story of the Bible.  Youth director, Brandon Roland, and leader Wes McKinney alternate teaching these teens on their newly remodeled third floor location.

Young Adult Class

The Young Adult Class has approximately 15 members, ages 18 and up.  Some members are students who are right out of high school, some members are married professionals with children.  Curriculum is chosen to encourage discussions about faith in an ever-changing world.  The class is completing Ask: Faith Questions in a Skeptical Age and will continue with the video series Chuck Knows Church.   The group loves to laugh and connect with each other through lively discussion.

Exploring Faith Class

The Exploring Faith class is a group of adults ranging from college graduate students (when in town) to retired professionals. We are adults with preschool children and grandchildren. The first 15 minutes of the class is spent "visiting" either in the classroom or the office wing lobby where coffee, tea and sometimes morning snacks are available. The class utilizes videos to facilitate discussion on a variety of subjects directed toward strengthening our faith and discipleship. The class meets in the office wing conference room (Etta Belcher Room) where everyone is welcome to join the discussion.

Renewal Class

The Renewal Class, led by Martha Cook, studies a variety of topics within our Christian journey, ranging from Methodist doctrines to a better understanding of God's grace and love. The class meets in Room #3 at the end of the hall in the Family Ministries Center. Come early and fellowship with a cup of coffee in Schell Hall.

Adult Sunday School Class

The Adult Sunday School class utilizes the David C. Cook Adult Curriculum and is lead by Joanna Thompson. They meet in the Holiday classroom located off the hallway between the education and office wings. All are welcome!
